Lisa Martello & Ashlyn Forest
Lisa and Ashlyn share a deep passion for animals and a long history of fostering with various rescue groups. After coming together in 2020, they quickly discovered a shared calling — a special place in their hearts for senior pets and the unique care they require.
From that shared vision and dedication, Barking Wishes Senior Pet Rescue & Sanctuary was born — a place devoted to honoring and protecting senior dogs in their golden years.

Our Mission & Goals
Barking Wishes Senior Pet Rescue and Sanctuary is a nonprofit organization dedicated to granting senior pets their greatest wish — a loving, peaceful home to cherish them through their golden years — while also providing compassionate rescue and care for special needs pets, regardless of age.
We focus on dogs ages 7 and older, as well as pets requiring additional medical or supportive care. Often overlooked due to age or health challenges, these animals deserve dignity, stability, and exceptional veterinary support. Through rescue, sanctuary, foster placement, and responsible adoption, we are committed to ensuring every pet entrusted to us receives the comfort, respect, and lifelong care they deserve.
